What is my IP address?
Your public IP address is the unique number the internet uses to route data back to your device. Below is your current IP, whether it's IPv4 or IPv6, your approximate location, the connection protocol, and your TLS version — detected live, with no signup and no tracking.

How this IP lookup works
When your browser loads this page it makes a request to our server. The server sees the public IP address your traffic comes from and returns it, along with an approximate geolocation derived from that address and the network protocol used (such as HTTP/2 or HTTP/3). Nothing is stored.
IPv4 vs IPv6
IPv4 addresses (like 192.0.2.1) are the older, still-dominant format. IPv6 addresses (like 2001:db8::1) are longer and were introduced because IPv4 addresses ran out. The badge next to your address shows which one you're currently using.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my location look wrong? IP geolocation is approximate and usually reflects your ISP's regional infrastructure, not your street address. A VPN or proxy will show the VPN server's location instead.
Is this free and private? Yes — no signup, and we don't store or sell your IP.
