Internet Status โ August 11, 2026: Akamai Cert Provisioning Delays
No major internet-wide disruptions today. Core cloud platforms โ AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Cloudflare โ are operating normally, with two minor vendor-level incidents active.
Akamai is investigating degraded performance in its Certificate Provisioning System (CPS), causing delays in domain validation and enrollment status mismatches in its UI (akamaistatus.com). Impact is limited to customers provisioning TLS certificates; content delivery is unaffected.
Twilio is working several regional carrier-level issues: voice call failures to Telefonica subscribers in Germany, SMS delivery delays to Claro subscribers in the Dominican Republic, and voice quality degradation on calls to Colombian landlines (status.twilio.com). These are carrier routing issues rather than a Twilio platform outage.
Recently resolved: Verizon restored wireless voice service after a disruption on Saturday, August 8 that drew more than 12,000 Downdetector reports; a brief spike in user reports early this morning has subsided and report volumes are back in the normal range. Cloudflare resolved R2 availability issues on August 9, and GitHub resolved two short-lived issues on August 10 (Copilot model access and fine-grained token creation).
Everything else checked โ Slack, Zoom, Discord, OpenAI, Stripe, Vercel, Heroku, DigitalOcean, Atlassian, Fastly, and Meta platforms โ reports all systems operational, and no notable BGP or routing anomalies were observed.
