All Clear, No Major Outages
No widespread internet outage is in progress as of about 10:00 UTC on Monday, October 19. The major cloud providers, CDNs, developer platforms and AI services we checked all report normal operation, and outage searches and crowd-sourced trackers show nothing beyond the usual small, local complaints.
**Cloud and CDN:** AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Akamai and Cloudflare have no active service-wide incidents. Cloudflare lists scheduled maintenance today at its Ashburn (IAD) and Houston (IAH) data centers. During that work, traffic is rerouted to nearby locations, which can add a little latency but should not cause errors. Cloudflare also has a long-running minor issue, open since August 27, where some WARP users get the wrong geolocation. ([Cloudflare Status](cloudflarestatus.com))
**Platforms and AI services:** GitHub, Discord, Slack, Atlassian, Zoom, Vercel, Heroku, DigitalOcean and Stripe are operational. So are OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Cursor, Groq, ElevenLabs, Cohere and Stability AI. Zoom has routine network maintenance on Zoom Phone in North America.
**Telecom (minor):** Since 09:11 UTC, Twilio has been investigating failed voice calls from some network subscribers to a subset of Twilio's Denmark phone numbers. It is also tracking several carrier-specific SMS and MMS delays, including to Brisanet and Surf Telecom in Brazil, and has US T-Mobile carrier maintenance underway. These problems only affect specific routes. ([Twilio Status](status.twilio.com))
**Unconfirmed:** A news report says Southwest Airlines' app, website login and digital check-in have had intermittent problems since about 6:00 AM ET on October 18, with reports declining. The airline has not confirmed a cause, and we could not verify this against an official source. ([Sunday Guardian Live](sundayguardianlive.com))
**Recently resolved (past 72 hours):** It was a busy few days for Cloudflare's US East network. Early on October 18, an external provider unexpectedly withdrew network prefixes on peering links in Ashburn, Virginia and Columbus, Ohio, which raised latency for Cloudflare customers there. Cloudflare marked it resolved at 08:50 UTC. Before that, on October 16, it resolved a major incident affecting the Cloudflare FedRAMP dashboard and Access, plus a short spike in HTTP 5xx errors in Ashburn. ([incident details](cloudflarestatus.com))
**Bottom line:** The internet is up and operating normally. We'll report any change in the next update.
