Yandex Data Center Knocked Offline
**Overall: incidents detected, no internet-wide outage.** The core cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and the major CDNs are working normally. The biggest event of the day happened somewhere we don't track: a drone strike took Yandex's largest data center offline in Russia.
**Yandex data center offline after drone strike (Russia)**
Overnight, a drone strike set fire to the building housing Yandex's data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region. The company said the facility has stopped operating completely and that some services may be unavailable. No one was hurt. Downdetector logged more than 1,300 user reports, mostly about Yandex Cloud, Yandex Documents and Yandex Tables. Search and Taxi stayed online. Some reports said connectivity across Yandex's network dropped to roughly 70% of normal, and sites hosted on Yandex Cloud were affected too, including Cian, Russian Railways and several regional government portals. Sasovo opened in 2014 and is rated at up to 12 MW. Yandex has not said when it expects the site to come back. Sources: [CNBC](cnbc.com), [The Record](therecord.media), [Meduza](meduza.io).
